I have so many recipes waiting in the "queue" to be published on the blog that I think I might need another life to cook and bake.
There are so many of them, and the pile keeps growing, and there is so little time for every one of them! However, when a recipe makes it twice to our table, it must be really worthwhile, like this one.
I love this quick bread. It saves you a trip to the store, is versatile and delicious, and is always a good reason to heat the oven and bake something awesome.
How about when you have guests? Any quick bread will transform dinner from blah to awesome, especially when bread is mandatory for dipping in the sauce, like in this Spanish dish.

Recipe Faqs
I am glad you asked. In fact, this bread can be made with whole wheat flour for all or part of the all-purpose flour.
I suggest starting with a small proportion. If you like the result, you can use whole wheat next time.
Just keep in mind that whole wheat flour makes the baked good dense.

Would this work with whole wheat flour? I absolutely love this recipe and am hoping I can make a healthier version
The Bossy Kitchen says
Yes, you can do it. I just added a paragraph to the article and explained more. However, the good news is that you can substitute whole wheat flour for all or part of the all purpose flour. Try small amounts at the beginning. If you like the result, you can add more next time. Keep in mind though, that you will change the texture of the bread. It will be darker and denser, which is not necessary bad, but different than the original recipe.

@The Bossy Kitchen, thank you!
Do you think almond flour would be a complete disaster? I’m trying to limit my carb intake but love bread lol 🙂
The Bossy Kitchen says
I never tried it, so I have no advice for you. Baking is chemistry so you will need to actually find a savory bread made with almond flour, as the ingredients are key for making a good bread. Just google almond flour savory bread and see what the internet shows. I am sure there are a million options out there. You can also try my Tarta de Santiago made with almond flour, a sweet recipe, but this would be good for when you are not dieting, as it has sugar in it.
